Chapter 12
Jiang Ning watched Lin Yuzhen’s nervous reaction with a small smile. He could tell she was worried, and it only made him more amused. The salesgirl soon returned with the payment processed, holding a receipt and the keys to the car.
“Congratulations, sir, your purchase has been completed,” the salesgirl said with a bright smile, handing over the keys. “Your car will be ready for delivery tomorrow.”
Lin Yuzhen stood there, stunned. She blinked a few times, as if trying to comprehend what had just happened. “What… What did you do?” she asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and confusion.
Jiang Ning glanced at her, unfazed. “I bought it. It’s for you.”
She shook her head in disbelief. “Jiang Ning, you can’t be serious. How could you afford this? This is… this is a BMW! It’s worth nearly half a million!”
Jiang Ning simply shrugged. “Money isn’t an issue. You need to stop worrying about things like that.”
“But…” Lin Yuzhen trailed off, still not fully understanding. “You were homeless, you don’t have a job, and now you’re buying a car like it’s nothing! How can you do this? Where did you get the money?”
Jiang Ning smiled, a little more seriously this time. “I’m not someone you should judge based on appearances. Trust me, I know what I’m doing.”
Lin Yuzhen’s eyes narrowed as she studied him. She had a feeling there was more to Jiang Ning than he let on. But she had no idea what kind of person he really was—or what kind of connections he might have. And now, he was doing things that were so far beyond her understanding.
The salesgirl, meanwhile, was almost bouncing with excitement. “Would you like me to arrange a test drive, or shall we deliver it directly to your address?”
“No need,” Jiang Ning said with a wave of his hand. “Just have it delivered to the address on file.”
Lin Yuzhen’s mind was still spinning. She was trying to wrap her head around all this. “You really bought this car for me, didn’t you?”
“Of course,” Jiang Ning said nonchalantly. “You deserve it. You’re a good person, and good things should happen to you.”
Lin Yuzhen didn’t know what to say. Part of her felt overwhelmed by the grand gesture, and another part of her wondered what his real motives were. But something told her this wasn’t the last surprise Jiang Ning had in store for her.
“Thank you… but this is too much,” she murmured, still in shock.
“You’re welcome,” Jiang Ning replied, not seeming bothered by her reluctance. “Now, let’s go home. I think you’ve had enough excitement for one day.”
And with that, they left the BMW shop, Lin Yuzhen still processing everything that had just happened. The thought of a BMW parked in her future was still hard to grasp—but she knew one thing for sure: Jiang Ning wasn’t just any man.
