Chapter 84
The sound of bone cracking echoed through the room, loud and sickening. Everyone froze in shock, eyes widening at the scene unfolding before them. Lin Wu’s fist, which had been aimed at Jiang Ning with all his might, stopped abruptly mid-air. His entire arm hung limp at his side, the force of the blow dissipated as if he’d struck a wall instead of his target.
Lin Wu gritted his teeth, sweat beading on his forehead. He tried to move his arm, but it wouldn’t budge. The pain was excruciating, a deep, sharp agony that made his entire body tremble.
Jiang Ning stood there, his expression cold and unfazed, his hand still outstretched from where he had blocked the blow with effortless precision. His eyes never left Lin Wu’s face, and the tension in the room grew thicker.
“You—!” Lin Wu gasped, his voice hoarse from the shock. “What did you do to me?”
Jiang Ning took a step closer, the murderous aura still radiating off him. His voice was calm, almost disinterested. “I broke your arm. Next time, it’ll be your neck.”
Lin Wu’s eyes widened in horror. He was used to fighting—he had made a name for himself as a ruthless man—but this was different. This wasn’t a fight; it was a lesson in how fragile his power truly was in the face of someone stronger.
Su Mei and Lin Yuzhen watched in stunned silence, their hearts pounding in their chests. Lin Wen, still writhing in pain on the floor, couldn’t help but stare at the scene before him, his thoughts a whirlwind.
“Who are you?” Lin Wu finally croaked out, his breath coming in short gasps. His pride, his very identity as a powerful figure, was shattered in front of him.
Jiang Ning didn’t answer, his expression hardening. He wasn’t here to explain himself to anyone, least of all a man like Lin Wu.
He turned to face Su Mei and Lin Yuzhen, his gaze softening for just a moment as he looked at them, his voice steady but full of authority. “You should go inside. This won’t be a pleasant sight.”
Without waiting for a response, he turned back to Lin Wu, who was now stumbling backward, his arm hanging uselessly by his side. “I didn’t want to do this,” Jiang Ning said, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife. “But you pushed me.”
Lin Wu’s eyes narrowed, his fury and humiliation mixing into an explosive cocktail. His teeth clenched, but he knew he was no match for Jiang Ning. His body was trembling—not from fear of pain, but from the overwhelming sense of helplessness.
Jiang Ning, meanwhile, stepped forward, his movements fluid and decisive. He didn’t hesitate. In one swift motion, he grabbed Lin Wu by the collar and lifted him off the ground as if he weighed nothing at all.
“You’ve hurt enough people today, Lin Wu,” Jiang Ning growled. “You won’t hurt anyone else.”
Lin Wu tried to resist, but his injured arm and the sheer force of Jiang Ning’s grip made him powerless. His legs kicked uselessly in the air as Jiang Ning’s glare locked onto him.
“Let go of me!” Lin Wu spat, but his voice lacked the usual venom. The fear was palpable now.
Jiang Ning’s lips curled into a small, almost imperceptible smile. “No one will miss you.”
He threw Lin Wu against the wall with a violent force that left the man crumpled on the floor, gasping for breath. The room was silent for a few moments, as Lin Wu lay there, unable to move, his pride completely shattered.
Lin Yuzhen and Su Mei remained frozen at the doorway, both too stunned to speak. They could hardly comprehend what had just happened, but there was no mistaking the power and the control Jiang Ning held over the situation.
Finally, Jiang Ning turned to face them, his expression softening just a touch. “He’ll be fine for now. But if he ever threatens you or anyone else again, I won’t hesitate to finish what I started.”
With that, he turned on his heel and walked out of the room, leaving behind the wreckage of Lin Wu’s pride and the stunned silence that followed his departure.
Su Mei and Lin Yuzhen stood in the doorway, their eyes meeting in disbelief. What had just happened? Who was this man? And what had he just done to Lin Wu?
Lin Wen, still on the floor and clutching his injured body, watched the scene unfold with a mixture of confusion and awe. Jiang Ning wasn’t just some random acquaintance—they could all feel it now. He was someone who commanded respect, who wielded power in a way they had never seen before.
For a brief moment, the weight of their family’s struggles felt a little lighter, knowing that they now had someone on their side who could stand up to even the most dangerous of threats.
But as the door closed behind Jiang Ning, the realization began to set in. The Lin family was at a crossroads, and the choices they made from here on out would decide whether they fell apart or rose to something greater.
