The room fell into stunned silence as Jiang Ning’s words hung in the air. No one dared to speak as they processed what had just been revealed. Lin Qiang’s face was frozen in disbelief, and the directors, who had been so eager to see Lin Yuzhen’s downfall, suddenly found themselves questioning their own assumptions.
Lin Qiang’s eyes darted from the receipts to Jiang Ning, his mind racing to make sense of the situation. The smug look on his face had turned into one of confusion and frustration.
“You—you’re lying,” Lin Qiang stammered, his voice losing some of its earlier confidence. “You can’t just throw around money like that. Where did you even get that much?”
Jiang Ning remained calm, his expression one of quiet assurance. “You should have known better, Lin Qiang,” he said, his voice smooth but laced with authority. “You’re too quick to assume, too eager to tear people down. You didn’t even think to check your facts before jumping to conclusions.”
The room was still tense, but now there was a shift in the atmosphere. The directors, who had once been so eager to join in the humiliation of Lin Yuzhen, now seemed uncertain. A few exchanged uncomfortable glances, their earlier enthusiasm fading into doubt.
Lin Yuzhen stood quietly, still biting her lip but with a hint of relief in her eyes. This wasn’t the end. Jiang Ning had just turned the tables, exposing the false narrative Lin Qiang had tried to build.
“You can’t just come in here and throw around accusations without consequences,” Jiang Ning continued. “I’m not some powerless man you can manipulate. I’ve got connections—real ones. And trust me, if you want to keep playing these games, you’ll regret it.”
Lin Qiang clenched his fists, his face reddening as his pride was shattered in front of the directors. He had underestimated Jiang Ning, and now it seemed like his entire plan was falling apart. The tension in the room was palpable, and the directors, sensing a change in the tide, began to shift their loyalties.
One of the more senior directors cleared his throat. “CEO Lin, with all due respect, we should take a step back and verify the claims made by Mr. Jiang. It’s important that we don’t act rashly, especially when there are records to be checked.”
The words were like a lifeline to Lin Yuzhen, and she gave the director a small nod of gratitude. The support, though subtle, was enough to break the dam of Lin Qiang’s confidence.
Lin Qiang’s face twisted in anger. “What do you mean, verify? She’s a thief, and I’m not going to let her stay in this company any longer!” His voice was rising again, but there was less conviction behind it now.
Jiang Ning stood up from his seat, the room still hanging on his every word. “Why don’t you make that call to Donghai Bank, Lin Qiang? Get them to confirm where the money came from. You’ll find it’s all legitimate. But I’m sure that’s the last thing you want, isn’t it?”
The tension reached its peak as Lin Qiang’s eyes flicked nervously toward the door. He could feel the walls closing in on him. His accusations were crumbling under the weight of evidence, and the directors were starting to turn against him.
Jiang Ning wasn’t done yet. He turned to Lin Yuzhen with a reassuring smile. “We don’t have to stay here any longer. You’ve already won, Yuzhen.”
Lin Yuzhen’s eyes softened. There was no need for further confrontation. She had already been humiliated, but now, with Jiang Ning’s unwavering support, she could hold her head high.
As they turned to leave, Lin Qiang’s voice rang out behind them, filled with frustration and helplessness. “This isn’t over! I’ll make sure you regret this!”
But it was too late. The damage had been done. Lin Qiang’s plot had backfired, and the support he once commanded was now slipping through his fingers. As Jiang Ning and Lin Yuzhen walked out of the room, the weight of the moment was clear: the balance of power in the Lin family had just shifted.
