Chapter 26
The scene unfolded in surreal speed as Jiang Ning’s actions took everyone by surprise. He didn’t hesitate. The moment his foot stomped the ground, it was as if the earth itself trembled, and in a blink, he shot toward the incoming attackers like a flash of lightning.
The hooligans, initially roaring with arrogance, suddenly found themselves facing an unstoppable force. They raised their bats, hoping the sheer number would overwhelm him, but it was no use. Jiang Ning moved like a blur—his punches swift and powerful, landing with crushing force. Each blow sent a thug flying, their bodies crashing to the ground like rag dolls, unable to even scream before they lost consciousness.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
The sounds of his punches were deafening, each one accompanied by the sickening thud of bodies hitting the ground. In less than a minute, over thirty men were knocked out cold. It was like watching a force of nature unleash itself. The hooligans, who had been charging at him with wild fury, now began to retreat in fear, their bravado melting away with every thug who hit the ground.
But it wasn’t enough to stop them entirely. The leader, trembling and desperate to maintain control, continued shouting, rallying the remaining men.
“Attack! Don’t let him intimidate you!” But his voice was barely audible over the terror that had already taken root in his followers.
The tide of battle shifted in an instant. Jiang Ning was relentless—there was no hesitation in his movements. Each punch was more devastating than the last, and soon, the entire group was incapacitated. The ground was littered with the bodies of men who had come to disrupt the construction site, now lying still, their fate sealed by the hands of the one man they had underestimated.
When the chaos subsided, only the leader remained standing, visibly shaking, his face pale and covered in a cold sweat. The construction site fell into an eerie silence, as the workers and project managers struggled to comprehend what they had just witnessed.
Jiang Ning approached the leader, his eyes narrowed, and without a word, slapped him across the face with such force that it echoed through the site. The thug crumpled to the ground, dazed.
“How dare you cause trouble here?” Jiang Ning’s voice was cold, his gaze sharp as he loomed over the trembling man. “This is my wife’s project. I suggest you remember that.”
The leader, now on the ground, struggled to regain his bearings, his cheek burning from the slap. With clenched teeth, he muttered, “You… you dare hit me? Do you know who my boss is?”
Jiang Ning’s eyes flickered momentarily. “Who is your boss?”
“Hei Hu!” The leader sputtered, hoping the name would give him some leverage. “You think you can just do this to me? My boss is Hei Hu, the most feared man in Donghai!”
For a moment, there was a tense silence, as if the name had some power to sway Jiang Ning. But then, to everyone’s surprise, Jiang Ning simply shook his head, unimpressed.
“I don’t know him.” His response was nonchalant, dismissing the leader’s last hope in an instant.
Before the thug could even process the words, Jiang Ning’s foot slammed into his chest, sending him flying through the air. The sickening sound of cracking bones echoed as the leader’s ribs gave way under the force. He hit the ground with a violent thud, unconscious before he even knew what hit him.
The site was still. The hooligans, the leader, all of them, were now out of commission. The workers, technicians, and project managers stood frozen, their eyes wide with disbelief. What they had just witnessed felt more like a movie scene than real life.
Lin Yuzhen, still in shock, watched Jiang Ning walk back toward her, his expression calm as if nothing had happened. She couldn’t process the events that had just unfolded in front of her. The man she had married wasn’t just strong—he was something else entirely.
The project managers, their faces pale, glanced at one another, unsure of what to say. They had just witnessed an act of sheer power and speed that defied all logic. Was this really the same Jiang Ning who had appeared so unremarkable before?
“Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again,” Jiang Ning said, his tone now softer but still carrying an unmistakable authority. “The work can continue. No more interruptions.”
The workers nodded eagerly, the fear still lingering in their eyes, but grateful for the swift resolution. They returned to their tasks, albeit with cautious glances at the man who had single-handedly turned the tide of battle.
Lin Yuzhen, finally finding her voice, turned to Jiang Ning. “Who… who are you really?” Her question was filled with awe, confusion, and a growing sense of respect. The man standing before her was not the same person she had known just a few days ago. He had transformed in ways she couldn’t yet fully understand.
