Chapter 53
The room was now filled with a tense silence, the weight of Jiang Ning’s words pressing down on everyone. Lin Qiang’s face was a mixture of disbelief and fury as he stared at the contract in front of him. The document clearly showed that the project, which he had been trying to take back from Lin Yuzhen, had nothing to do with Lin Group. It was all hers, every clause, every partnership, every agreement. It was a clean slate for her, and Lin Qiang had no leverage.
“How… how did this happen?” Lin Qiang muttered under his breath, his voice barely audible as his hands trembled. He had trusted his people, his systems, and yet somehow, the most crucial detail had slipped through. The contract, the one piece of evidence he had counted on, was now utterly useless.
“That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it?” Jiang Ning said with a sharp edge in his voice. He was standing with his arms crossed, watching Lin Qiang flounder. “You really thought you could take what doesn’t belong to you. But here’s the reality—this project has always been Yuzhen’s. She didn’t need Lin Group; she never did.”
The directors, who had been watching with growing unease, now seemed to be reconsidering their earlier enthusiasm. They had been so quick to pile on Lin Yuzhen, but now they saw the truth unfolding before them. No one was going to get away with exploiting her anymore—not Lin Qiang, not anyone.
Lin Yuzhen, still composed despite the chaos, glanced at Jiang Ning with a look of quiet appreciation. He had always been her anchor, and now, with his unwavering support, she felt a sense of relief she hadn’t expected to experience in this battle.
“I don’t care what tricks you’ve pulled, Lin Qiang,” Jiang Ning continued, his tone cool and unbothered. “But you’ve lost this round. The project is still hers, and it will stay that way. You won’t be able to touch it. And as for all the slander, I’ve already made it clear—we’ll be seeing each other in court. I look forward to that.”
The directors were shifting uneasily in their seats. The ones who had initially supported Lin Qiang were now hesitating. They had seen how quickly things had unraveled, and the implications of Jiang Ning’s words were clear. A battle in court with a company as powerful as Lin Group was one they didn’t want to be caught up in.
“Let’s make one thing clear,” Jiang Ning said, his voice sharp. “This company, this project—everything—was never about Lin Qiang’s claims or your dirty games. It’s about what Yuzhen has earned and built on her own.”
Lin Qiang looked as if he had been struck by a physical blow. His arrogance had clouded his judgment, and now he stood at the center of his own undoing. His eyes narrowed in fury, but deep down, he knew the fight was over. He had lost control, and there was nothing left for him to do but watch as Lin Yuzhen walked away with the very thing he had tried to take.
“You think you’ve won, Jiang Ning?” Lin Qiang sneered, his pride still fighting back. “I’ll make sure this isn’t over. No one humiliates me like this and gets away with it!”
“Go ahead,” Jiang Ning replied without hesitation, his voice full of finality. “Do what you have to do. But just know, every move you make from now on will only dig your grave deeper.”
Lin Qiang’s face was contorted with rage as he turned away, but his steps were hesitant now, unsure of what to do next. He had nothing left. The directors had already started to distance themselves from him, and the weight of his failure was sinking in. For the first time in his career, Lin Qiang realized that his actions had not only destroyed his reputation, but had also pushed him to the brink of losing everything.
As Jiang Ning and Lin Yuzhen made their way to the door, the room was still, almost eerily quiet. The directors exchanged glances, unsure of what to say, but they all knew one thing: Jiang Ning had just flipped the entire power structure of the room. Lin Qiang had no more authority here.
Lin Yuzhen paused at the door and looked back, her expression calm but resolute. “We’re leaving now, but don’t think for a second that this is the end,” she said, her words lingering in the air like a warning. “You’re just getting started, Lin Qiang.”
With that, they walked out, leaving behind a room full of defeated faces. The battle was over, but the war for control of the Lin family had only just begun.
