Chapter 75
“Mr. Jiang,” Xue Xing said, with an almost reverent tone, bowing his head slightly in acknowledgment of Jiang Ning’s presence. “It’s an honor to meet you.”
Jiang Ning only nodded in response, his calm demeanor unwavering. He had learned to expect this sort of respect from people once his name started carrying weight. He wasn’t surprised that the CEO of Donghai Bank had come to offer a loan—though he hadn’t anticipated it to happen so soon.
Xue Xing turned to Lin Yuzhen, his face softening as he spoke. “CEO Lin, after hearing about the difficulties your company is facing, we’ve decided to offer you the loan you requested. I believe this will help stabilize your operations and help you get through this challenging time.”
Lin Yuzhen was taken aback. She had expected more rejections, not this sudden change. “Why… why are you offering us a loan? We’ve never worked with Donghai Bank before,” she asked, still unsure of what was happening.
Xue Xing smiled, a knowing glint in his eye as he glanced at Jiang Ning. “There are certain… people in Donghai who believe in your potential, CEO Lin. I am simply here to support that belief.”
Jiang Ning, watching the exchange quietly, knew exactly what Xue Xing meant. His reputation was starting to spread, and more people were beginning to take notice—whether they were friends or foes, it didn’t matter. Jiang Ning had become a pivotal figure, one who could tilt the scales of fortune with just a word. His influence had reached beyond the shadows, touching those in power.
Lin Yuzhen looked at Jiang Ning, her eyes wide in disbelief and gratitude. “This is… too much. How can we possibly repay this kindness?”
“You don’t need to worry about repayment right now,” Jiang Ning replied. “What’s important is that you keep the company running. The rest can wait.”
Xue Xing, still standing by, added, “We believe that Lin Group has the potential to succeed, especially with your leadership. We’re happy to be part of your journey.”
Lin Yuzhen’s heart fluttered with a mix of emotions—relief, gratitude, and something deeper that she didn’t quite understand. She had no idea what kind of power Jiang Ning wielded, but the reality of it was slowly sinking in.
“Thank you,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper, but heartfelt.
Jiang Ning smiled, his expression softening for a moment. “Don’t thank me yet. Your real challenge is just beginning. But don’t worry—I’ll be around to make sure you’re not alone in it.”
Meanwhile, outside, Jin Ran was still brooding over the failure of his plan. He had underestimated Jiang Ning, and now he would have to face the consequences of his arrogance. He paced back and forth, frustration gnawing at him. He had expected Lin Yuzhen to beg for mercy, but instead, she was now receiving help from one of the most influential figures in Donghai.
“This isn’t over,” Jin Ran muttered to himself, his fists clenching. “I’ll show them all that I’m not done yet. No one humiliates me like this.”
He picked up his phone, dialing a number he knew all too well—the number of a man who had always been able to get things done in the underworld. “I need you to do something for me. I don’t care what it takes—make sure Lin Yuzhen’s company crumbles.”
His voice was cold, calculating. It wasn’t just about business anymore. This was personal.
Back in Lin Yuzhen’s office, things were starting to look up. With the loan secured and Jiang Ning’s support, she felt a flicker of hope. Maybe, just maybe, she could navigate the storm ahead.
But she knew the road would be hard. Enemies were still lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to strike. And the Jins, with their hunger for power, would not be so easily deterred.
Jiang Ning stood up, his mind already moving ahead. “Take care of everything here, Lin Yuzhen. I’ll be around when you need me.”
With that, he left the office, his presence still lingering even after he had gone.
