Chapter 22
Lin Yuzhen paced back and forth in the office, frustration and anger clear on her face. The situation at the factory was worsening, and the new competitors were pulling every dirty trick in the book to dominate the market.
“They’re using every unethical method to push us out. First, they cornered the suppliers, now they’re going after our workers. They think they can bully us because we’re growing, but they’re seriously underestimating our strength!” Lin Yuzhen muttered under her breath, her fists clenched tightly.
Jiang Ning had followed her to the site, but even he knew better than to interfere. Lin Yuzhen was in full business mode now, her focus entirely on the challenge at hand.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to turn this around,” Jiang Ning said, stepping into the room with a calm demeanor that only served to make Lin Yuzhen pause for a moment. His words were meant to reassure, but he knew how high the stakes were for her.
“How can you be so calm right now?” she asked, her tone a little sharper than she intended. “We’re facing a full-scale attack on the business, and it feels like everything is crumbling around me.”
Jiang Ning stepped closer, his voice steady. “This isn’t the first time we’ve faced pressure. It’s just a new challenge. You’ve always found a way to turn the tables when things seemed impossible.”
Lin Yuzhen sighed, rubbing her temples. She knew he was right. She had faced adversity before, but this time, it felt different. The competition wasn’t just a business threat—it was personal.
“I don’t know how much longer I can hold this together,” Lin Yuzhen said quietly. “It feels like we’re being squeezed from every direction.”
Jiang Ning gave her a soft smile, his usual calm reassuring her even if she didn’t fully understand why. “Take a step back for a moment. Focus on what you can control. We’ll handle the rest together.”
Just as Lin Yuzhen was about to speak again, the door to the office opened, and one of her staff members rushed in with urgent news.
“Ms. Lin, we just got a report. The rival company has reached out to some of our key clients with offers that are hard to turn down. They’re offering lower prices, and it’s working.”
Lin Yuzhen’s face darkened. She knew how critical those clients were to the factory’s success. Losing them now would be disastrous.
“Set up a meeting with them,” she said sharply, her eyes narrowing with determination. “It’s time we let them know who they’re dealing with.”
As the staff member left to make arrangements, Jiang Ning leaned against the doorframe, watching her with a mix of admiration and concern.
“You’re not going to let them get away with this, are you?” he asked quietly.
Lin Yuzhen met his gaze, her resolve solidifying. “No. I won’t let them take what’s ours. They’ve underestimated us, and they’ll regret it.”
Jiang Ning smiled, the pride in his expression evident. “I never doubted you.”
As Lin Yuzhen prepared for the meeting, Jiang Ning stayed close by, offering his support in his own subtle way. It was clear to her now that, no matter the challenges ahead, she had someone in her corner who would never back down—no matter how tough things got.
