“Yes, I understand,” Lin Qiang quickly responded. He had been following Jin Long’s instructions for years, and even though he didn’t particularly enjoy the man’s condescending tone, he knew better than to argue. The Jins were powerful, and having their favor was essential for his own ambitions.
Jin Long gave a final nod before stepping into his car. His posture was proud and unbothered as he left Lin Qiang standing there, his mind already focused on the next phase of their plans. Lin Qiang, however, stayed behind for a moment, watching the car disappear into the distance.
As the car sped off, Lin Qiang felt a knot tighten in his chest. He was a man with big plans, but Jin Long’s words had reminded him of his own vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, in the Lin Group’s headquarters, Lin Yuzhen was at her desk, going through the day’s stack of papers. Her mind was still occupied with Jiang Ning’s words, but she pushed them aside as the weight of her responsibilities pressed down on her. They’re conducting an inspection, and we need to provide all the necessary documentation for the last batch of production. It’s urgent.”
Lin Yuzhen’s brow furrowed. “I’ll handle it. Let’s make sure everything is in order. No mistakes.”
Her calm exterior masked the growing unease within her. She had been managing the company alone for months, but now it seemed like things were spiraling out of control.
