Chapter 96
The force of the slap echoed through the villa, and Lin Wu’s head snapped to the side, his face stinging with the impact. For a brief moment, everything seemed to go silent, the tension in the air thick enough to choke on.
Lin Wu’s men, standing protectively in front of him, tensed at the sudden move, but they knew better than to step forward. The thirty men behind Huang Yuming exuded an air of sheer dominance, and Gao Fei could feel his stomach knot with anxiety. They had underestimated Huang Yuming—underestimated how much power he had accumulated so quickly.
“You think you can just waltz in here and claim Donghai?” Lin Wu growled, wiping the blood from his mouth where the slap had caught him. His eyes were wild with fury, but there was a flicker of doubt now, something unsettling deep within him.
Huang Yuming’s calm smile remained unwavering. “I don’t need to claim anything,” he said coolly. “Donghai is already in the hands of my Big Boss, whether you like it or not. And if you keep pushing, you won’t get to leave here with your life.”
Lin Wu clenched his fists, his body tense. He could feel the walls closing in around him, and despite his bravado, doubt was creeping in. Huang Yuming wasn’t just playing a power game—he was here to end things once and for all.
“Jiang Ning… I should have known,” Lin Wu muttered, his voice bitter. “That bastard.”
“Yes,” Huang Yuming replied, his voice low and cold. “Jiang Ning. The man you thought was just some nobody, the one you’ve been underestimating from the start. He’s the one who put all of this together. And now he’s untouchable.”
The words struck Lin Wu harder than any blow could. The realization sank in, and for the first time, Lin Wu felt something he hadn’t in years—fear. He’d been playing a dangerous game, and now, he was standing at the edge of a cliff, the abyss staring him down.
“Don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions,” Gao Fei interjected, his voice cutting through the heavy silence. He wasn’t ready to give up on Donghai, and neither was Lin Wu. “We still have our connections, we still have our allies. You think you can control this place just like that?”
Huang Yuming raised an eyebrow and looked at Gao Fei. “Allies? How many of them are still left to help you after tonight?”
As if on cue, a few of Lin Wu’s men began to stir uneasily. They had seen the ferocity of Huang Yuming’s Wolves firsthand, and the confidence that had once radiated from their ranks now seemed to crumble.
“You’re already too late,” Huang Yuming said, his eyes locking onto Lin Wu’s. “You’ve been playing the wrong game, Lin Wu. And now, it’s over.”
The tension in the room was unbearable, and the air seemed to crackle with the imminent threat of violence. But Lin Wu, still in shock and barely holding onto his resolve, let out a deep, shaky breath.
“You don’t get it,” Lin Wu spat, his voice trembling with both rage and desperation. “Donghai is mine. I will take it back. You’ll regret crossing me, all of you.”
Huang Yuming’s expression hardened, the corner of his mouth twitching into a faint sneer. “No, Lin Wu,” he said, voice laced with finality. “You won’t be taking anything back. You’re done here.”
In that moment, Huang Yuming signaled to Brother Gou, who stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with malice. Without another word, they moved swiftly and decisively. Lin Wu’s men barely had time to react before they were overwhelmed by the Wolves.
Gao Fei, seeing the writing on the wall, tried to make a final stand. “This isn’t over!” he shouted, but his words were drowned out by the chaos unfolding around them.
It didn’t take long before Lin Wu’s once-proud empire was reduced to dust. Huang Yuming, cold and methodical, ensured that no one was left standing. As the final blows were dealt, the Wolves stood tall, their mission complete.
Huang Yuming looked at Lin Wu one last time, his face impassive. “You’ve lost,” he said quietly. “Donghai belongs to my Big Boss now.”
With that, Huang Yuming and his men turned and left, leaving behind the wreckage of Lin Wu’s world. The message had been sent. Donghai had changed hands, and there was no turning back.
