“What?” Keely could hardly believe what she was hearing. “Who is this person? Why are they doing this to me?”
A sudden wave of worry struck Keely. Could Loraine have a powerful backer?
“Starlight Entertainment. I heard the order came directly from their boss.”
“Starlight Entertainment?”
Keely immediately recognized the name as one of the top companies in the entertainment industry.
How could Loraine be connected to such a major player? Loraine came from a poor background.
Keely wondered if her family had ever crossed paths with Starlight Entertainment. The more she thought about it, the less she understood. Determined to get to the bottom of it, she decided to ask Marco for help.
“Hello, Marco. Have you seen the tweets online? They’re calling me a mistress! You need to do something to shut this down. It’s making me so upset.”
Keely’s voice trembled as she sobbed, playing the helpless victim.
But unfortunately, it didn’t seem to affect Marco.
“I can’t help you with this. Marina started it. You’re on good terms with her, so go ask her for help.”
Keely gritted her teeth in frustration but didn’t show it. Instead, she feigned ignorance and tried to defend Marina.
“Don’t blame Marina for this. She was just worried that the man Loraine had an affair with might go after you…”
“What nonsense!” Marco cut her off, his voice growing angry. “Loraine never cheated on me, and that’s a fact!”
Keely, undeterred, pressed on, trying to plant a seed of doubt in Marco’s mind.
“How can you be so sure, Marco? I saw photos of Loraine and Cayson looking close. It doesn’t seem like they just met recently. They even had dinner together. If they…”
“Enough!” Marco snapped, interrupting her once more.
“Keely, you’ve crossed the line. What happened between me and Loraine is none of your business. Stay out of it!”
With that, he hung up.
Despite his anger, Marco couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling caused by Keely’s words.
He stared at the photos of Loraine and Cayson on the screen, his thoughts troubled.
