Chapter 97
Marina lowered her head, guilt written all over her face, unable to meet Marco’s furious gaze.
Marco’s expression darkened further when he noticed her avoiding him. Without saying a word, he gestured for the bodyguards to seize Marina’s phone, unlock it, and hand it over to him.
“What are you doing, Marco?” Marina’s voice cracked with frustration.
“I knew it!” Marco’s voice rang out as he waved the phone in front of them. “How did you get this much money, Marina? Explain it to me! Don’t even think about telling me your friend gave it to you. I have ways to find out who transferred the money to you.”
Realizing there was no way out, Marina exploded in anger.
“Yes! It was me! I sold the documents to Sola Group. So what?!” She shot back bitterly. “If you hadn’t frozen my cards for that bitch and made me a laughingstock, I wouldn’t have had to sell those documents!”
Laura stood frozen, shocked by Marina’s defiance.
“Marina…”
Marco’s eyes narrowed into ice-cold slits. His anger surged, and his voice was low with fury.
“I can’t believe you sold those documents to Sola Group,” he said, his tone sharp. “Yes, I froze your accounts, but you’ve never lacked for food, clothes, or jewelry. You’ve always had everything you wanted.”
Marina trembled under Marco’s harsh gaze. “I’ve worn all that jewelry already. I need money to buy new pieces. And those documents were just sitting in your study for ages. You never locked them up, and even Loraine could go in and clean in there. I figured they weren’t important, so I sold them.”
“Enough!” Marco’s patience shattered. His face reddened with anger, a vein pulsing on his forehead. “You’re the one who sold the documents, and now Universe Group is suing us because of it!”
Marina’s heart raced, and the weight of her actions finally hit her. “Marco, please! You can’t do this!” She rushed into her mother’s arms, panic rising in her voice. “Mom, I don’t want to be arrested!”
“Marina, relax,” Laura soothed, though her own anxiety was evident. She turned to Marco, shouting, “How could you do this to her? She only took the documents because you didn’t watch over her properly. You didn’t care for her!”
Marco scoffed, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. “I spoiled her too much. Now she’s a wild thief who thinks she can do whatever she wants.”
Without another word, Marco uploaded all the evidence he had found online, ignoring his mother’s protests and his sister’s desperate sobs.
Bryant Group issued an official statement clearing Loraine’s name, clarifying the situation once and for all.
Finally, Marco sent a personal message on Twitter, marking the end of the scandal—at least for now.
