Chapter 24
Jealousy gnawed at Marco as he watched Loraine smile at Cayson.
She had never smiled at him like that.
Cayson…
Was he the one who picked Loraine up from the hospital that day? Was he the reason she had so easily divorced him?
The rumors of Loraine’s alleged affair quickly died down after her strong rebuttal. However, the news of her divorce spread like wildfire.
Her family reached out to her, showing their concern.
“Lorrie, if you still haven’t vented all your anger, I can help you settle scores with the Bryant family right now,” Aldo said, his voice filled with anger.
Just then, Rowan’s call came through.
“Lorrie, are you satisfied with how things turned out? If not, just say the word. I’ll make sure no one dares to step on your toes ever again!”
Wesley also called, offering comfort. “You must be going through a tough time. Do you want me to fly back and keep you company?”
Surrounded by so much love and support, Loraine felt her heart warm.
She realized how much she had missed out on during her time with that cold-hearted man.
“You don’t need to do that, Uncle Wesley. I’m fine. Marco can’t break my spirit, no matter what he does.”
Her uncles were relieved to hear this. They had feared that she might be swayed by Marco’s antagonism and possibly return to him.
Rowan, ever the protector, spoke in a commanding tone. “Marco is just an ordinary man. There are many good men out there. I know a few. My subordinates in the army are gentlemen. I could introduce you to some of them.”
“Yes, yes!” Wesley eagerly chimed in. “Loraine, if you’re not interested in men from the army, I know many fine gentlemen in the entertainment industry. Would you prefer a soft and elegant man, or a fashionable and handsome one? Tell me your taste, and I’ll arrange a blind date for you right away!”
Loraine’s two uncles went on and on, eager to set her up on a blind date. They were just waiting for her approval.
