Chapter 27
Marina continued to provoke, her voice dripping with venom. “What’s wrong, Loraine? Did I hurt your feelings? Why are you staring daggers at me? Want to hit me? Go ahead if you have the guts!”
Cayson’s eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the vile woman in front of him. His fists clenched in anger. This woman clearly had a death wish.
He stepped forward, intent on teaching her a lesson, but Loraine was faster. Without a second thought, she slapped Marina hard across the face.
A sharp palm print immediately appeared on Marina’s cheek, her skin burning red from the force of the blow.
Loraine began massaging her wrist, scorn dripping from her voice. “There you go, Marina. I must say, I’ve never seen anyone ask for a slap before. I hope you like it.”
The slap left Marina dazed, her mind struggling to process what had just happened. She blinked repeatedly, her hand instinctively going to her cheek.
Did Loraine really just slap her?
Finally coming to her senses, Marina let out a furious scream and lunged toward Loraine. “You bitch! How dare you hit me?”
She raised her hand, ready to strike back, but she never got the chance.
Cayson immediately moved to shield Loraine, pushing Marina away with force. Marina stumbled and crashed to the floor with a loud thud.
Pointing at her, Cayson’s voice was icy and menacing. “Keep your hands to yourself, woman. If you don’t, you’ll get something much worse than a slap.”
The murderous glare in his eyes made Marina freeze, a chill running down her spine. But she wasn’t about to back down.
Screaming towards the entrance of the shop, she yelled, “Someone just slapped me! Where are the security guards? Guards, help me!”
Her screams were quickly answered as two security guards rushed over. Marina, feigning extreme pain, pointed at Loraine and Cayson, accusing them.
“They beat me! Arrest them now!” she cried.
But to her shock, instead of taking Loraine and Cayson into custody, the guards swiftly pinned Marina to the floor.
