Chapter 99
“I couldn’t figure out why Lorrie was being scolded so harshly online. Turns out, someone’s pulling the strings behind this,” Wesley said, his voice laced with frustration.
Loraine’s brows furrowed in surprise. “Who could it be?”
Wesley didn’t hesitate. “Slater Lee.”
“Slater?” Loraine’s frown deepened at the mention of his name. It wasn’t that she was entirely shocked; after all, she had won Slater’s prized car in a game, and knowing him, he would stop at nothing to get revenge. But she wasn’t afraid of him.
Wesley looked at Loraine expectantly. “Lorrie, do you want me to hire someone to fight back on the Internet?”
“Let me deal with this myself,” Rowan interjected, his anger evident. “I’ll handle him.”
Loraine grinned, shaking her head. “Don’t worry, I have my own ways to make him suffer.”
This was a battle Loraine wasn’t going to back down from—not when Slater had dared to slander her.
Determined, Loraine took action. She decided to take Slater’s car to the shop for a new paint job.
Soon, the brand-new pink Bugatti Veyron was ready. It gleamed under the sunlight, looking like a completely different vehicle.
Satisfied with her revenge, Loraine snapped several photos of the car and posted them to Twitter.
“Got this new car for free! It was ugly before, but it’s looking much better after a repaint,” she wrote, the tone casual but loaded with intent.
Her followers flooded the comment section almost immediately.
“For free? How did you manage that? I want one!”
“I’m so glad you’re still posting! It’s awesome that the Lawyer’s letter hasn’t gotten to you!”
“Beautiful car, but honestly, you’re way more beautiful!”
Loraine was trending now, her name everywhere. Anything she posted was quickly picked up, and the comments kept pouring in.
