Chapter 96
Universe Group
She watched as a woman discreetly moved in and out of Sola Group, holding a folder in her hand. It wasn’t Loraine, as she had first thought, but Marina—Marco’s sister and Laura’s daughter. The evidence she carried was enough to reveal the truth.
Still, Laura refused to believe it. “Marina would never do such a thing. Loraine must have worked with Universe Group and Sola Group to frame her!”
Marco’s anger flared. “Bring Marina here!” he commanded the bodyguards.
Moments later, Marina was brought in.
“Marco, what’s going on?” she asked, unaware that her actions had already been exposed. “I’m running late for an appointment at the beauty salon,” she added, trying to deflect.
Marco’s glare was sharp. “You know exactly what you’ve done!”
A flicker of guilt crossed Marina’s face, but she quickly countered, “What are you talking about, Marco? Why do you always doubt me? I’ve been behaving myself.”
“Still lying?” Marco’s voice was laced with disbelief. “I’ve already frozen your accounts. So how did you pay for the beauty salon? Did you steal the documents from my study and sell them for money?”
Marina’s face drained of color. “Of course not!”
Marco gestured for the bodyguards to show Marina the footage. “Then tell me, what were you doing at Sola Group?”
A cold sweat broke out on Marina’s forehead as panic set in. “I… I have a friend at Sola Group. I just went to visit her…”
Marco’s stare intensified. “Really? You brought documents with you to visit your friend?”
Marina shifted uncomfortably under his gaze.
“Stop being cruel, Marco!” Laura stepped in, standing protectively in front of her daughter. “Marina is your sister! Why would she do something like this? You’d rather trust an outsider than your own family?”
